Stefan Niederhafner

Dr. Niederhafner is Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Seoul National University. Previously, he was a research fellow at the Social Science Research Center in Berlin (2001-2005) and was a recipient of the Hans Boeckler Foundation Ph.D. scholarship (2003-2005). He also served as a political consultant, a lecturer at the department of public management at the Berlin University for Applied Sciences (HTW), a visiting professor at the Graduate School of International Studies at Ewha Womans University, and a visiting scholar at the Department of Law of Hitotsubashi University in Tokyo. Dr. Niederhafner’s research interests focus mainly on governance in multi-level systems with a special focus on the role of the local level, transnational networks, as well as of energy and climate change politics. He studied at Phillips University in Germany and the Free University Berlin where he received an M.A. in political science. He earned his Ph.D. in political science from the Darmstadt University of Technology in Germany.
