Nicholas Eberstadt

Henry Wendt Chair in Political Economy, American Enterprise Institute
Session 1 - "Demographic Crises"

Dr. Nicholas Eberstadt holds the Henry Wendt Chair in Political Economy at the American Enterprise Institute, and is also Senior Adviser to the National Bureau of Asian Research. He also is a Founding Director of the U.S. Committee for Human Rights in North Korea and has served as a Visiting Research Fellow at the Asan Institute for Policy Studies. Dr. Eberstadt researches and writes extensively on demographics, economic development, and international security. His many books include A Nation of Takers: American’s Entitlement Epidemic (Templeton Press, 2012), Russia’s Peacetime Demographic Crisis (NBR, 2010), The Poverty of the Poverty Rate (AEI Press, 2008), and The End of North Korea (AEI Press, 1999). He earned his A.B., M.P.A., and Ph.D. from Harvard University, and his M.Sc. from the London School of Economics.
