Mr. Kargman is President of Kargman Associates, an international restructuring advisory firm that advises clients oncomplex and challenging international restructuring, cross-border insolvency, sovereign debt, and distressed debt/NPL situations, with a special emphasis on the emerging markets. He is a leading expert on international restructuring and cross-border insolvency and has worked on major restructurings throughout the emerging markets. He is frequently invited to address academic, professional and industry conferences around the world. He served formerly as Lead Attorney with the Export-Import Bank of the United States and General Counsel of the New York State Financial Control Board. He has published numerous articles on international restructuring and international finance topics and has played a leadership role in major professional organizations. Mr. Kargman received his B.A., with Honors and Phi Beta Kappa, from Swarthmore College, and his J.D. from Yale Law School, where he was an editor of The Yale Law Journal.
