Amb. Vikram Doraiswami is the Ambassador of India to the Republic of Korea. As a career diplomat Amb. Doraiswami has served in multiple posts. Amb. Doriawami was first posted in Hong Kong and then Beijing as Third Secretary (1994). He also served as Deputy Chief of Protocol of the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi (2000-02), and was seconded to the Prime Minister’s Office, and later served as Private Secretary to the Prime Minister of India. In 2006, Amb. Doraiswami was posted to the Permanent Mission of India to the UN in New York as Political Counsellor (2006). He was later posted at Johannesburg as Consul General in 2009. He also served as the Head of the Division for the South Asia Association for Regional Cooperation (2011-12) and Joint Secretary of the Americas Division, MEA (2012-14). Before coming to the Republic of Korea, he was the Ambassador of India to Uzbekistan. Amb. Doraiswami received his M.A. in history from the University of Delhi.
