Helmut Hauschild

How Can Leadership Save the Eurozone?

Mr. Hauschild is a Senior Expert and member of the management committee with the Bertelsmann Stiftung, a leading German non-profit foundation and public policy think tank. He is an expert in international economy and is head of the Asia department at the Bertelsmann Stiftung. Before joining Bertelsmann Stiftung he served as a senior correspondent and Bureau Chief with Handelsblatt, the leading German business and financial daily. During his tenure of twelve years with Handelsblatt he was based in Berlin, Brussels, and New Delhi. Before this he was a Deputy Economic Editor with the weekly newspaper Rheinischer Merkur in Bonn. He holds a Master’s Degree in Economics and started his professional career as a Research Associate at the Department of Public Sector Economics, University of Hohenheim, Germany. His research focused on monetary policy and the role of central banks.
