Igor R. Tomberg

Dr. Tomberg is the director of the Centre for Energy and Transport Research in the Institute of Oriental Studies at the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS). He is also a professor at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia. Previously, he was a senior research fellow at the Institute of Economics of the RAS. With practical experience in oil, refined products, and petrochemicals he also consults privately for major Russian and international banks and companies. His publications include a book on China energy issues, and numerous articles and book chapters on global energy problems. He is also a consultant to the Russian government and parliament as well as a number of Russian organizations in the fuel and energy fields. Dr. Tomberg received his Ph.D. in economics.
