On Wednesday, August 7, the Asan Institute for Policy Studies hosted a closed 4-hour workshop, bringing together academia and policymakers for a discussion on “President Park’s Southeast Asia Policy.”

Dr. Lee Jaehyon, research fellow and director of the Center for ASEAN and Oceania at the Asan Institute, opened the workshop with a presentation on Korea’s Southeast Asia policy and ASEAN’s future direction. From the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, head of the ASEAN Cooperation Division of the South Asian and Pacific Affairs Bureau Lee Sang Ryul presented on the Southeast Asian policies of China and Japan. A roundtable discussion followed the presentations.
