Former Foreign Minister Han Named the Chair

 

SEOUL, May 23 – The Asan Institute for Policy Studies announced today that Former South Korean Minister of Foreign Affairs and Board of Trustees Member of the Asan Institute for Policy Studies Han Sung-joo, who served as its first chairman of the Board of Trustees when it was founded, has been named the chair of the Board. Choi Kang, Vice President of Research has been named the acting president. The change of leadership follows the resignation of Hahm Chaibong as the chair and president.

“The Asan Institute for Policy Studies looks to build on its past work and continue its development as one of the leading research institutes under new leadership,” stated Chairman Han Sung-joo.

The Asan Institute for Policy Studies as an independent, non-partisan think tank will continue to undertake policy-relevant research to foster domestic, regional, and international environments conducive to peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula, as well as Korean reunification.
