Prof. Kim Young-Ho is the Vice President of Korea National Defense University (KNDU) and also a professor of the University’s international relations department. He is also currently serving as the chair of the Ministry of National Unification’s policy advisory committee and as a member of both policy advisory committees of Foreign Affairs and Unification for the ROK National Assembly and the Ministry of National Defense. Previously, Prof. Kim worked as the Deputy Secretary to the President for Security Strategy at the Blue House (2014-2016). In addition, Prof. Kim had experience of teaching and researching at the Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore as a visiting research fellow (2007-2008). While teaching at the KNDU since 2002, he has held several academic and administrative posts including the Director-General of the Research Institute for National Security Affairs (RINSA) and the Chair of Dept. of International Relations. His major areas of interest include foreign policy and security affairs of Northeast Asia, ROK-U.S. relations, and international organizations. Prof. Kim received his B.A. in political science and diplomacy from Yonsei University, South Korea, and his M.A. and Ph.D. in political science from Ohio State University, U.S.
