Dr. Marie McAuliffe is the head of the Migration Policy Research Division at the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Geneva, and chief editor of IOM’s flagship World Migration Report. She has two decades of experience in migration research, policy and practice. She is a member of MIT’s Global Technology Review Panel and the IUSSP’s panel on international migration. Prior to joining IOM in 2016, Dr. McAuliffe led research, analysis and policy teams in government and consulted to IOM, ILO as well as in the private sector, including in South Korea, Russia, Central Asia and Turkey. She curates the World Economic Forum’s Migration Transformation Map, and has published and edited widely in academic and policy spheres on migration, especially on irregular migration, displacement and asylum seeking. In late 2014, Dr. McAuliffe was awarded a Sir Roland Wilson scholarship to complete her doctoral research in demography (migration) at the Australian National University, which was approved in late 2017.
