Mr. Lim is leading the team for the Korea-China FTA and Korea-China-Japan FTA in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MOFAT). Before taking this post, he was stationed at the Embassy of Korea in Washington, D.C. as first secretary for Economic Affairs. Lim focused on the ratification and implementation of the U.S.-Korea Free Trade Agreement and bilateral trade issues. Upon joining MOFAT in 1996, Lim held positions of deputy director of the FTA Policy Planning Division, chief of staff to the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, as well as assistant director of APEC and ASEM Regional Cooperation Division. In addition to Washington, D.C., overseas assignments include counselor at the Korean Embassy in Lebanon and first secretary for the Korean Mission to the EU in Brussels. Lim received a B.A. in Spanish literature from the Hankuk University of Foreign Studies and an M.A. in law and diplomacy from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.
