Marie Alnwick, Second Secretary of the Canadian Embassy Visits The Asan Institute for Policy Studies

On the 17th of April, Marie Alnwick, Second Secretary of the Canadian Embassy visited the Asan Institute for Policy Studies. During this meeting, opinions were shared on the need for cooperation between academic fields and public and private organizations. Specific solutions were concluded based on the construction of a private, domestic, and international cooperative system. These solutions orientated around the close cooperation between domestic embassies and the significance of communication between foreign think tanks.
Marie Alnwick was greatly interested in the efforts of the Asan Institute for Policy Studies, especially in regards to closed networks of domestic and international academics and countries. Further interests were found in the initiation of public diplomacy such as timely, credible public opinion polls. The Senior Researcher of the Asan Institute for Policy Studies, Dr. Bong Youngshik, stated, “Strengthening the partnership with the Canadian embassy in Seoul will contribute to the Asan Institute for Policy Studies becoming an intellectual hub.” The Asan Institute for Policy Studies expressed that it will continue to cooperate with the Canadian embassy in various fields.
