Dr. Lee is the inaugural director of the China Research Center at The Korea Times. He lived in China for 10 years where he was chief China correspondent for The Korea Times and other news media outlets. He writing also appears in the Asia Times. He is a frequent commentator on Korea-China relations as well as on North Korea for Chinese media. He was an internal reviewer for the International Crisis Group`s reports on North Korea and China-North Korea relations. He taught at the Salzburg Academy, lectured at Harvard’s Kennedy School, Stanford University Shorenstein Asia-Pacific Research Center, the Confucius Institute, Seoul National University’s Graduate School of International Relations, and the Korea Economic Institute in Washington DC. He is a graduate of Grinnell College, Harvard University, Beijing Foreign Studies University, and Tsinghua University, where he received his Ph.D. For 2012-2013, he is a James A. Kelly Fellow at Pacific Forum CSIS.
