Dr. CHOI Eunmi is a research fellow at the Asan Institute for Policy Studies. Dr. CHOI received her M.A. and Ph.D. in Political Science from Korea University. Previously, Dr. Choi was a research professor of the Center for Japanese Studies at the Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security (IFANS) of Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA), a visiting researcher at University of Michigan (USA), Waseda University (Japan) and the Sejong Institute, and a researcher at Ministry of Foreign Affairs of ROK. Her main area of research interest is Korea-Japan Relations, Japanese Diplomacy, and multilateral cooperation in Northeast Asia. Her recent publications include “A Study on Perception Gap in Conflict matters between Korea and Japan through National Identity (2018)”, “Japan’s International Strategy toward Asia and Korea-Japan-China Trilateral Relations (2018)”, “Cooperation and Conflict between Korea and Japan Relations, Changes and Challenges Last 20 Years (1998-2017) (2018)”, “Is Japan still a ‘reactive state’ ?: Changes and Continuities of Japan’s Diplomacy in the Abe Administration (2019)”, “National Identity, Free and Open Indo-Pacific, and Abe Administration's Foreign Policy (2019)”.
