Gennady Chufrin

Dr. Chufrin is a Member of the Governing Board, and Counselor, at the Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Dr. Chufrin was an Assistant for the Economic Faculty at Leningrad State University between 1961 and 1965, after which he served as Department Head of the Soviet Trade Representation in Indonesia until 1969. Dr. Chufrin was Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Marketing Research from 1970 to 1973. He then served as First Secretary and Counselor at the Soviet embassies in India and Pakistan between 1973 and 1978. Dr. Chufrin was Deputy Head of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences between 1979 and 1997, and later Deputy Director from 1998 to 2002. He was Project Leader at the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute between 2002 and 2008. Dr. Gennady graduated from Leningrad State University in 1958.
