Lee Heeok

China - North Korea Economic Cooperation

Dr. Lee is a professor in the Department of Political Science and the director of both the Sungkyun Institute of China Studies and the Institute of National Grand Strategy at Sungkyunkwan University. He is also an invited professor at the Jilin Academy of Social Science and Ocean University of China, Peking University, and the University of Washington. Professor Lee is also the chairman of the Association of Modern China Studies. Lee was previously the coordinator of the Korea-China Strategic Dialogue and was a columnist for several major Korean daily newspapers. He sits on the advisory committee for the Ministry of Unification, the Korea Broadcasting System, the Northeast Asian History Foundation, the Korean Navy, and is an editorial committee member of Contemporary Korea. Lee is the author or editor of 30 books and has published over 80 articles. His most recent book, A Study on China`s Grand Strategy, appeared in 2007. Lee received his Ph.D. in political science from the Hankuk University of Foreign Studies.
