On Tuesday, November 29, 2011 David W. Brady, Deputy Director and Davies Family Senior Fellow at Hoover Institution, delivered a lecture titled “The Future of American Conservatism” at the Asan Institute for Policy Studies.
David Brady is Deputy Director and Davies Family Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution and the Bowen H. and Janice Arthur McCoy Professor of Political Science and Leadership Values in the Stanford Graduate School of Business where he was associate dean from 1997 to 2001. He also held the Morris M. Doyle Centennial Chair in Public Policy (emeritus) and is a professor of political science in the Stanford University School of Humanities and Sciences. Dr. Brady is an expert on the U.S. Congress and congressional decision making. His current research focuses on the political history of the U.S. Congress, the history of U.S. election results, and public policy processes in general. His most recent publications include Leadership and Growth (World Bank Publications, 2010) coedited with Michael Spence, Revolving Gridlock: Politics and Policy from Jimmy Carter to George W. Bush (Westview Press, 2006) andRed and Blue Nation? Characteristics and Causes of America’s Polarized Politics (Brookings Institution Press, 2007) coedited with Pietro Nivola. Brady received a B.S. from Western Illinois University and an M.A. and a Ph.D. from the University of Iowa.
