On September 11, 2017, The Asan Institute for Policy Studies hosted a closed door round table with a delegation from the NATO Parliamentary Assembly. Nineteen officials representing 17 countries took part in the event. The participants discussed the current crisis on the Korean peninsula and what steps the international community can take to counter the North Korean nuclear and missile threat. The conversation covered topics including the status of the North Korean economy, the effectiveness of economic sanctions, and inter-Korean relations under the Moon Jae-in administration. The panelists also analyzed the long term issue of maintaining the regional order and stability of Northeast Asia.
