On June 2, 2017, the Asan Institute for Policy Studies hosted a closed door roundtable with a delegation from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland. The participants discussed the North Korean nuclear and missile programs and the South Korean public perception of THAAD and the US alliance. The conversation also touched on South Korea-Japan relations and the prospective environmental policies of the Moon Jae-in administration. The Finland delegation emphasized their interest in expanding economic ties in the Asia-Pacific region, as well as the challenges and opportunities of dealing with a rising China.
