[Asan Special Lecture] Michael Sandel, “What Money Can’t Buy”
On June 1st 2012, the Asan Institute for Policy Studies invited Harvard professor Michael Sandel for a special lecture titled “What Money Can’t Buy.” Well known among Korean readers as the author of Justice: What’s the Right Thing to Do? (2010), professor Sandel is famous for leading debate-style lectures that actively engage the audience. In this lecture, delivered in Yonsei University’s amphitheater to an audience of 14,000, professor Sandel explored the proper role of markets in a democratic society as market values increasingly crowd out nonmarket norms in almost every aspect of life.
