Dr. Cheng serves as an associate professor in the School of International Studies and is deputy director of the Center for China’s International Strategic Studies at the Renmin University of China. Dr. Cheng previously worked for the China Institute of Contemporary International Relations and served as a visiting research fellow at the Fairbank Center at Harvard University (1997-1998). He also taught courses on China’s politics and foreign policy at University College Dublin (2007) and China’s foreign relations at the University of Michigan (2009). His recently published articles cover China’s relations with the Korean Peninsula and the Indian subcontinent. Dr. Cheng did his undergraduate work in international politics at Fudan University and earned his Ph.D. in political science from Boston University.
