Mr. Liu is the Deputy Director of the Department for Asia-Pacific Security and Cooperation Studies at the China Institute of International Studies. Previously, he was a researcher in the Department for Information and Contingencies Analysis and a diplomat in the Chinese Embassy in Norway. His major areas of interest include Northeast Asian Security, Korean Peninsula issue in particular, Asia-Pacific Affairs, US policy towards Asia, and conflict management. He has published over 15 theses on Northeast Asia security-related issues and conflict management theory in China’s Core Academic Journals, and more than 20 articles and commentaries on international affairs in the press. He is also a contributor to a variety of policy papers for related government agencies on US policy to Asia and the DPRK nuclear issue. Mr. Liu received his M.A. in Diplomacy from China Foreign Affairs University (CFAU).
