Panel Description
The ROK-US alliance is epic in its sweep. From the Korean War to the greatest development success story, the ROK-US alliance has been the foundation of contemporary modern Korean history. While many perceive the alliance to be a strictly military/security relationship, it also has a strong economic as well as people-to-people and cultural components. The relationship has certainly experienced its share of highs and lows, but its resilience is remarkable. Moving forward, that resiliency will be its most important strength in an increasingly uncertain future in the Asia Pacific.
