Dr. Zhao is an Associate Professor in the Institute of International Studies at Tsinghua University and the Deputy Director of the Tsinghua Center for U.S.-China Relations. Previously, he was the Deputy Director of the Carnegie-Tsinghua Center for Global Policy, where he currently runs a program that examines the development of China’s public diplomacy. Before joining the Tsinghua University faculty, Dr. Zhao was an Assistant Professor in the Center for American Studies at Fudan University. An expert on China’s foreign policy and diplomacy, Dr. Zhao’s recent publications include Building the Future: The Institutional Study on U.S. Congressional Lobbying Activities and Public Diplomacy: Theory and Practice. Dr. Zhao holds a B.A. from Qufu Normal University and an M.A. and Ph.D. from Fudan University.
