On Thursday, October 17, 2013, the Asan Institute for Policy Studies held the 10th Asan China Inji Lecture (峨山中國仁智講座) with Han Feng, Deputy Director of the Institute of Asia-Pacific at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences

In a presentation titled, “China and ASEAN Relations,” Dr. Han discussed the current state of China-ASEAN relations as well as emerging challenges and opportunities. Following the presentation, Professor Lee Dongryul of Dongduk Women’s University and Professor Li Chunfu of Sungkyunkwan University served as discussants.

Han FengHan Feng is the Deputy Director of the National Institute of International Strategy (NIIS) at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS). He graduated from the Department of International Politics, Peking University in 1982. He has been working in CASS since 1984, in Institute of World Economics and Politics (Oct. 1986 — Dec. 1988) and in Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies (Dec. 1988 – 2010) respectively. Now Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies has changed its name to the National Institute of International Strategy (NIIS). His research area is the current international relations in the Asia-Pacific region, especially relations among the ASEAN nations and with outside powers and the regional security.
