Dr. Rakhimov is the head of the Department of Contemporary History and International Relations at the Institute of History in Uzbekistan. He was associate professor at the National University of Uzbekistan and at the Tashkent Pedagogical University. From 2003 to 2012 he was visiting scholar and professor at the University Hokkaido, the University of Washington, the University Georgia, the University of London, Cambridge University, the University of Giessen, the University Bielfeld, Nehru University, Mumbai University, and Eurasian University. Dr. Rakhimov received his M.A. in history from Navoi State Pedagogical Institute, and his Ph.D. from the History Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2001.
