Dr. Nguyen is the director of the Nuclear Research Institute (NRI) which belongs to the Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute (VINATOM) of Vietnam. Dr. Nguyen has worked at NRI since 1978, and as Director since 1998. In 2012, he was appointed vice-president of VINATOM, while continuing to serve in his position as director of NRI. Previously, he spent 5 years researching at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna City, in the Russian Federation. From 1994 he was invited as a lecturer at Dalat University, and has been an invited professor there since 2002. He received his degrees from Hanoi National University in nuclear physics and his Ph.D. in nuclear electronics.
