On March 25, 2013, the Centre for ASEAN and Oceania Studies at the  Asan Institute for Policy Studies hosted a roundtable with a senior Vietnamese delegation led by Mr. Vuong Thua Phong, Deputy Head of the Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

The roundtable, titled “Key Issues in Northeast Asian Security Architecture,” explored the strategic adjustments of the United States and China and their implications for the region; South Korea’s views on island disputes in Northeast Asia and the East Sea; Northeast Asia’s trilateral relations; and North Korea’s nuclear issues and inter-Korea relations.
