The Asan Plenum 2013 – “New World Disorder”
World’s leading scholars and experts on security and foreign affairs coming to Seoul on April 30th

 The Asan Institute for Policy Studies will host the Asan Plenum 2013: “New World Disorder” on Apr. 30 (Tues.) – May 1 (Wed.) at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Seoul. Live-streaming will be available via Ustream and the Plenum website (www.asanplenum.org).

 Under the overarching theme of “New World Disorder,” Kurt Campbell (former U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs), James Steinberg (former U.S. Deputy Secretary of State), Michael Schiffer (former U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for East Asia) and Guy Sorman (a French economist and author) will be among the 300 scholars and experts on security and foreign affairs attending the Plenum this year.

 Some topics of discussion for this year’s Plenum are, “New World Disorder,” “Evolving New World Order in East Asia,” “Crisis and Reform of Global Capitalism,” and “Democracy and Economic Crisis.”

 Leading scholars and experts on security and foreign affairs will redefine the meaning of “disorder,” and look for possible solutions to current crises witnessed around the globe, including the recent security crisis taking place in the East Asian region.

 The Asan Plenum is an annual gathering of experts and scholars to address a variety of current issues. By engaging different perspectives and insights, the Asan Plenum aims to bring forth better policy alternatives on many of the pressing issues faced by the world today.
