On August 22, 2017, the Asan Institute for Policy Studies hosted a closed door roundtable with a delegation of diplomats from Nordic countries in Seoul. The participants discussed the state of affairs on the Korean peninsula and the Moon Jae-in administration’s policy towards North Korea. The conversation covered topics including North Korea’s nuclear capabilities, changes in South Korean politics, and current issues in South Korea-China relations. The panelists also analyzed the rise of China and its implications for Northeast Asia, as well as the effectiveness of sanctions on North Korea.
