Dr. Shen is the director of the Center for Korean Studies at Peking University. He concurrently serves as the president of the Association of Chinese Ph.D.s who studied in South Korea. He is a member of the Joint Research Committee of Chinese and Korean Expert Scholars, a member of the Chinese People Association for Friendship with South Korea, and is a guest researcher at the South Korea Academy of Social Sciences. Dr. Shen is deputy chief editor of the Korean Studies Series and an editor of Korean Studies Collected Essays. He was previously acting director of the Korean Teaching and Research section of Peking University. He was also leader of the education group at the Chinese Embassy in North Korea. He is the author of numerous books, articles, and translations. Dr. Shen graduated from Peking University in 1979, and did further study at Kim Il-sung University. He obtained his doctoral degree from Kwandong University in South Korea.
