The 1st Asan Memorial Lecture

The Asan Memorial Lecture series was established by the Asan Institute for Policy Studies as one of its signature programs, and keeping with the Institute’s mandate to provide innovative policy solutions and spearhead public discourse on many of the core issues that Korea, East Asia and the global community face.

On March 11th, 2010, the Asan Institute for Policy Studies invited Dr. Henry A. Kissinger, one of the preeminent theorists and practitioners of our time in foreign affairs, to deliver the First Asan Memorial Lecture. In his lecture, titled “Nuclear North Korea and Northeast Asia,” Dr. Kissinger, took up/based upon his original approach and provided a broad historical analysis of the implications of the rise of China as well as penetrating policy prescriptions for dealing with nuclear North Korea.
