Dr. Zhang is a research fellow at the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies. He is also on the editing board of the Journal of Political Marketing. Previously, he worked as a professor of English at Heilongjiang University (1995-2005) and spent a year at Johns-Hopkins Nanjing Center (2002-2003). He was a visiting fellow at the Stimson Center in Washington, D.C. in 2011. His research focuses on China’s diplomacy, U.S.-China relations and Taiwan’s external relations. He is author to a number of academic and media articles. He is the translator of Marketing of the President: Political Marketing as a Campaigning Strategy and co-editor of Studies on Peaceful Development of Cross-Strait Relations. He completed his doctoral studies at Fudan University.
