Professor Su is a professor in the Department of Diplomacy at the China Foreign Affairs University. He was chairman of the Diplomacy Department, director of China’s Foreign Relations Section, general secretary of the East Asian Studies Center, director of the Center for Asia-Pacific Studies, and a founding director of the Center for Strategic and Conflict Management. He received his B.A. and M. A. in history from Beijing Normal University and his Ph.D. in international relations from China Foreign Affairs University. He took his advanced study in the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London in 1993-1995; was a Fulbright scholar in the Institute of War and Peace Studies at Columbia University and in the Institute of East Asia at the University of California, Berkeley in 2001-2002; and a guest professor in the Department of Peace and Conflict Studies at Uppsala University in Sweden in 2004.
