Participant Biographies

Jennifer Lind

Associate Professor, Dartmouth College

Dr. Lind is an Associate Professor in the Department of Government, Dartmouth College. She is also a Faculty Associate at the Reischauer Institute of Japanese Studies, Harvard University. Professor Lind has worked as a consultant for RAND and for the Office of the Secretary, U.S. Department of Defense, and has lived and worked in Japan. Professor Lind is the author of Sorry States: Apologies in International Politics, which examines the effect of war memory on international reconciliation (Cornell University Press, 2008). She has published scholarly articles on issues of East Asian international security in numerous academic journals, and has written for wider audiences in the Atlantic, Foreign Affairs, New York Times, Washington Post, and CNN. She holds a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley, a Master’s in Pacific International Affairs from the University of California, San Diego, and a Ph.D. in political science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
