Claude Barfield is a Resident Scholar at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington, D.C. His areas of research include international trade, Asian regionalism, intellectual property, science and technology policy, and U.S. competitiveness. His most recent publications include: SWAP: How Trade Works (with Philip Levy). Prior to joining AEI, he taught at Yale University, the University of Munich, and Wabash College. He received a B.A. from the Johns Hopkins University and a Ph.D. from Northwestern University.
