
Ahn Byung-suk
Prof. Ahn Byung-suk is a Distinguished Professor at Pyeongtaek University and Director of the Pyeongtaek Institute for Peace and Alliance (PIPA), where he focuses on strengthening the ROK-U.S. alliance and regional security cooperation. He is also a visiting fellow at the Korea Institute for Defense Analyses (KIDA). Previously, Prof. Ahn served as a General of the Republic of Korea Army and Deputy Commander of the ROK-U.S. Combined Forces Command. With over three decades of distinguished military service, he has held key leadership roles, including Vice Chief of Staff of the ROK Army and Commander of the 1st Corps. He played a crucial role in the Full Operational Capability (FOC) Assessment for the OPCON transition. His contributions to security and defense have been recognized with the Order of National Security Merit (Tongil Medal) and the U.S. Legion of Merit.
