Mr. Elhalawani has served as a diplomat for the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Egypt since 2001. Previous postings include Tanzania (2002-2005) and Azerbaijan (2006-2007). From 2007 to 2008 Mr. Mohammed served as assistant spokesman in the Office of the Prime Minister, and then moved to the Office of the Assistant Foreign Minister where he handled political and human rights issues in the Organization of Islamic Conference. He received his B.A. from Cairo University and a Diploma in Laws with Merit from the University of London.
