Dr. Lee Hong Koo is Chairman of the Seoul Forum for International Affairs and the East Asia Institute, as well as an advisor to the JoongAng Ilbo. Dr. Lee was the Korean Ambassador to the United Kingdom (1991-1993) and to the United States (1998-2000). He also previously served as the Prime Minister of Korea (1994-1995). Before that, he served twice as the Deputy Prime Minister for unification dealing with inter-Korean relations. He was formerly a member of the Korean National Assembly and Chairman of the then-ruling New Korea Party. Dr. Lee taught political science at Seoul National University for twenty years and was educated at Seoul National University, Emory, and Yale University.
