Center for American Politics and Policy is pleased to announce the release of its newest Asan Report (in Korean), an annual review of major US policy in 2013. Co-authored by the Center’s own Dr. J. James Kim and Ms. Han Minjeong, the report intends to cover critical issues that were dealt in the US Congress under the Obama administration, including the government shutdown, sequester, and filibuster, among others.

J. James Kim

Center for Regional Studies

Dr. J. James KIM is the senior research fellow and director of the Center for Regional Studies at the Asan Institute for Policy Studies (Seoul). He is also a lecturer in the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University. Previously, Dr. Kim was an assistant professor of political science at the California State Polytechnic University (Pomona). He also served as a summer research associate at the RAND Corporation and as a statistical consultant for the Institute for Social and Economic Research and Planning at Columbia University. His primary research interests include national security, energy, public opinion, democracy, and methodology. Dr. Kim received a B.S. and M.S. in industrial and labor relations from Cornell University and an M.Phil. and Ph.D. in political science from Columbia University.

Han Minjeong
Han Minjeong

Research Division

HAN Minjeong is a senior associate at the Asan Institute for Policy Studies. She received a B.A. in Hindi and Economics from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies and a M.A. in International Area Studies from Seoul National University. Her primary research interests include trade, economic integration, federalism and research methodology
