On September 13, 2017, the Asan Institute for Policy Studies held a closed door roundtable with Maria Lohela, Speaker of the Parliament of Finland and other parliament members. The participants discussed the ongoing crisis on the Korean peninsula and its effect on the region’s economy. The conversation covered topics including Russia’s influence in Northeast Asia, South Korea’s national defense strategy, and the status of the North Korean economy. The panelists also analyzed long term strategies for establishing peace and stability on the Korean peninsula.
