Dr. Alice Ekman is Head of China Research at The Institut français des relations internationales (IFRI) and teaches at Sciences Po in Paris. She is currently a member of the EU committee of the Council for Security Cooperation in the Asia Pacific (CSCAP) and provides China expertise to the European Union Institute for Security Studies. Dr. Ekman was formerly a visiting scholar at Tsinghua University (Beijing), National Taiwan Normal University (Taipei), and the Asan Institute for Policy Studies. She specializes in China’s foreign policy. Her research interests also include the Korean peninsula. In Seoul, she organizes “Hanok hikes” – informal foreign policy gatherings in the surrounding mountains. Dr. Ekman is the author of La Chine dans le Monde (CNRS Editions, February 2018). She holds a Ph.D. from Sciences Po in International Relations and an M.A. from the London School of Economics.
