Professor Migranyan, a member of the Russian Academy of Political Sciences and a Professor at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, has been the Director of the Institute for Democracy and Cooperation since 2008. He has been a member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation since 2005, and a Director of the Center on the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) since 1992. He served as Vice President and First Vice President of the foundations “Reforma” (1994-2003) and “Soglasiye” (2004), respectively. Professor Migranyan has held positions both in government and in the academic sphere as a distinguished political scientist in the past twenty years: he served as a Member of the Presidential Council of the Russian Federation from 1993-2000, Chief Advisor to the Committee on CIS Problems in the Russian Parliament from 1994-1995, and a Senior Advisor to the Committee on Foreign Relations of the Supreme Council of the Russian Federation from 1992-1993.
