Dr. Cheng is Associate Professor at the School of International Studies and Deputy Director of Center for China’s International Strategic Studies at Renmin University. His main research focuses lie in the fields of China’s foreign relations in general and China’s Relations with the United States and some neighboring countries in particular. Dr. Cheng previously worked for several years at the China Institute of Contemporary International Relations and served as a visiting research fellow at the Fairbank Center of Harvard University (1997-1998). He also taught courses in China’s Politics & Foreign Policies at Dublin College University (2007) and China’s Foreign Relations at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor (2009). His recently published articles mainly cover China’s relations with the Korean Peninsula and the Indian Subcontinent. Dr. Cheng received his undergraduate degree in international politics from Fudan University and earned his Ph.D. in political science from Boston University.
