Professor Du is the director of the Center for South Asian Studies in the Institute of International Studies at Fudan University. Previously, he was a research fellow at the Shanghai Institute for International Studies, senior fellow and director of the Department of South Asian Studies, first secretary (political) at the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad, and deputy head of Political Section of the Chinese Embassy in New Delhi. He is also a member of the Standing Council of the China Association for South Asian Studies. Professor Du’s research interests cover South Asian regional security, US policy toward South Asia, and China-South Asia relations. He has been a visiting scholar in IEAS, UC Berkeley and the Henry L. Stimson Center.
