Dr. McNally has an extensive background acquired over 25+ years at Los Alamos National Laboratory in nuclear weapons research and development as well as nuclear proliferation and verification issues. He has a Caltech Ph.D. in nuclear physics. Other activities include serving on: the U.S.-UK team assessing the 2004 Gadhafi nuclear weapon program abandonment; U.S.-USSR negotiations on the Threshold Test Ban Treaty; the Joint Verification Experiment that measured on-site yields of nuclear explosions at the Soviet and U.S. test sites; and responsibility for the U.S. AEC laser fusion and laser enrichment office in the mid 70s.
