Mr. Wit is a senior research scholar at the US-Korea Institute within the John Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. He is also the editor of the institute’s blog on North Korea, 38 North, and the director of its project “Nuclear Security: The Seoul Summit and Beyond,” funded by the MacArthur Foundation. Previously, he was a senior fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and a State Department official working extensively on nuclear arms control, non-proliferation, and North Korea issues. He is the co-author (with Robert Gallucci and Dan Poneman) of Going Critical: The First North Korea Nuclear Crisis. He received his B.A. from Bucknell University and M.I.A. from Columbia University.
