H.E. Kim is the vice minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Korea. Previously, he taught international relations at the Graduate School of International Studies at Korea University. He was also a member of the Presidential Commission for National Security Review and the Presidential Commission for Defense Reform. His main responsibilities include multilateral diplomacy such as development cooperation, international organizations and international legal affairs. His academic interests range from the Korea-U.S. relations to international security policies. He received his Ph.D. in political science from the University of Texas at Austin.
