Professor Kim is a professor in the Department of International Relations at Korea National Defense University (KNDU), and also serves as the director of Center for Security Policy Studies at Research Institute for National Security Affairs (RINSA) at KNDU. Previously, he was a post-doctoral researcher at the Mershon Center for Education in National Security in OSU and a research professor at the Research Institute of Unification Studies in Yonsei University. Professor Kim is the chair of the Department of International Relations, and head of the Division of International Affairs and director of the Center for U.S. and China Studies at RINSA. Prof. Kim was also a visiting research fellow at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS) in Singapore and served as a policy advisor to the Chief Secretary for Foreign Policy and Security to the President of the Republic of Korea. He received his M.A. and Ph.D. in Political Science from the Ohio State University.
