Professor Lee is Dean of the Graduate School of International Studies at Yonsei University. He joined Yonsei University in 1998 after a decade at leading think tanks in Korea, the United States, and Japan including the RAND Corporation, the Sejong Institute, and the National Institute for Defense Studies (Tokyo). Professor Lee has also served on numerous advisory committees in the ROK government. He received his B.A. in political science from Yonsei University in 1982 and his M.A.L.D. and Ph.D. in international security studies from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy in 1998. Professor Lee is a specialist in East Asian security, crisis management, and intelligence and a frequent commentator on inter-Korean and Northeast Asian security issues. He combines theoretical acumen with practical policy applications with his extensive familiarity of the global political environment having lived in ten countries and has visited more than 60 countries.
